10 Players Who Could Become Free Agents On July 01

With the transfer window having closed shut at midnight on Thursday, Soccer Laduma takes a look at the players who will be able to leave on a free at the end of the season. 

Several players at the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are currently in the final year of their contracts at their respective clubs and while there has been no confirmation of new deals as yet, they will automatically become free agents at the end of the current 2018/19 season.

Here are some of the players who could be free agents at the end of the season.

Orlando Pirates:

Notably; Abbubaker Mobara and Jackson Mabokgwane will see their contracts come to an end on June 30, with no confirmation as yet about a possible contract renewal.

Kaizer Chiefs:

Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Gustavo Paez, Hendrick Ekstein and Joseph Molangoane will all see their deals with Chiefs come to an end on June 30. Paez has been heavily linked with an exit, however, the player will see out his contract with Amakhosi.

Mamelodi Sundowns:

Thela Ngobeni will leave the club on a free at the end of the season, should Sundowns not offer him a new deal. Sundowns have added two-year options set in place on both Lucky Mohomi and Sibusiso Vilakazi’s deals.

SuperSport United:

Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Morgan Gould and Thuso Phala are some of the players who will be able to leave on a free at the end of the season if they do not sign a contract extension.

Players elsewhere:

The likes of Darren Keet (Bidvest Wits), Gabadinho Mhango (Wits), Andrea Fileccia (Maritzburg United) and Tendai Ndoro (Highlands Park) will be free agents at the end of the season, should their respective clubs not look to offer them new deals.
