Siya sources have informed the crew that the coach, who was appointed on a three-year contract by trigger-happy chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi in July, received an email on Tuesday night informing him to not report for training the next morning.
The decision comes two days after the Chilli Boys suffered a 3-1 defeat away to AmaZulu on Sunday, their fifth loss in eight DStv Premiership matches.
Seema had told the media in his post-match interview that he was confident he had the backing of his boss, Mpengesi.
“I still have the support of the players and the management‚ so we’re still soldiering on. We can’t despair now. We’re going to focus more and work harder. We can’t despair now. We’re going to focus more and work harder,” he told the media.
It appears he actually does not enjoy the full backing of his employers, who are now set to meet later today to deliberate on whether he should be given more time or sent packing just eight matches into the new season and four months into a three-year contract.
Usually, when Mpengesi suspends a coach, there’s no returning to the dugout.
There has been no official comment from the club and Seema also could not be reached to give his side of the story.
But the Siya crew has it on good authority that his future is on the line!
