SA Attacker Attracts Spanish Interest
Word reaching the Siya crew is that, after a stint in Sweden, a South African attacker has started to attract some interest from a club in Spain.
Sameehg Doutie took his first step into European football back in June when he penned a short-term deal with IFK Varnamo in the Swedish Superettan and leaves them with nine appearances and two goals to his name a few months later.
Now, according to Siya sources, CD Tenerife in the Spanish Segunda Division have shown an interest in bringing him on board in their attempt to climb away from the relegation zone in Spain’s second tier.
It is thought that Doutie is now back in South Africa after leaving Varnamo, and he will be eager to try and sort out his future as soon as possible, potentially getting himself a new contract early in the new year when the January transfer window opens up.
At 29, Doutie doesn’t have that long left to try and realise his dream of playing in the top-flight in Europe, but a move to Tenerife would certainly be a step in the right direction for the former Ajax Cape Town man.
