SAFA NEC Agree On New Electoral Commission
SAFA NEC have decided on the electoral commission to over elective congress
The South African Football Association National Executive Committee has agreed on a replacement electoral commission to oversee the voting process at its elective congress on 24 March 2018.
Siya sources have revealed that the NEC’s VIP members which included the likes of Dr Irvin Khoza and Elvis Shishana met behind closed doors to select a new electoral committee following the Independent Electoral Committee's (IEC) withdrawal stemming from Ace Ncobo’s argument that the elective congress was not being conducted in accordance to SAFA’s statutes.
“SAFA’s NEC voted and decided on a replacement for a new electoral commission. I can confirm to you that the decision was not contested and was unanimous,” added the Siya source.
It is also understood that Ace Ncobo’s grievances regarding the elective congress have now become null and void due to the fact that he is no longer running for the SAFA presidency top job.
Soccer Laduma had reported that SAFA’s top brass had been in meetings for the entire of Wednesday and now can confirm that further meetings were held yesterday to decide the outcome of the electoral committee issue.
