Rooi ‘Ngubo’ Mahamutsa is in search of a deal with a new club for the 2019/20 season, with the 37-year-old having surfaced at Maccabi FC in the National First Division for training.
The former Orlando Pirates defender appears to be going strong, despite no longer having age on his side.
The centre-back, who will be turning 38 in October, is looking to earn a contract at Maccabi after he parted ways with Free State Stars.
“Rooi Mahamutsa has been training with Maccabi in the NFD,” confirmed a source.
Mahamutsa made 23 league starts for Ea Lla Koto during the 2018/19 season, as the Bethlehem club finished at the bottom of the Absa Premiership log, and subsequently relegated to the NFD at the end of the season.
Mahamutsa last played in South Africa’s second tier in 2008, before he was signed by Pirates, where he spent eight years and achieved much success in his career.
The Standerton-born player had been with Ea Lla Koto since 2016.
