Coetzee To Begin Preseason Training With Sundowns

Rivaldo Coetzee Could Possibly Begin Preseason Training With Mamelodi Sundowns

A Mamelodi Sundowns defender looks set to begin preseason training with Mamelodi Sundowns as he looks to make a full return from injury.

Rivaldo Coetzee has been out of action for a year now. He has been nursing his injury since joining Sundowns in August last year. The player has been undergoing rehabilitation and training by himself as he looks to make a full recovery from a foot injury.

According to Siya sources, the player could soon report to preseason training with the Masandawana first team, as he looks to get on track to potentially make his first appearance for the Brazilians in the coming months.

Head Coach Pitso Mosimane previously revealed to the public that Sundowns are in no rush to have the 21-year-old back to fitness, as he was a signing they viewed as being one for the future.

Although, with Wayne Arendse approaching his 34th birthday and Bangaly Soumahoro’s uncertain future at the club, the Brazilians could do with extra cover in their centre-back department.

It remains to be seen when Coetzee will make a full return to action, although at this point it seems that the Sundowns fitness team won’t be rushing the player’s progress.

@TBS, yeah, I saw it friend, they are complicating matters further, I have no doubt in my mind that Adv Mokhari is the one who advised them to take the appeal option.

@setlaboswana ,,,It's so unfortunate, he's still young. Btw, the PSL is going to appeal the Ndoro findings. Ajax will not come back. Wanna bet? :))

Manueldosantos Jul 05, 2018 12:51 AM Soccerladuma is filled with idots. Sundowns signed him knowing fully well that his injured. They looked at his age n knew very well that his got a high percentage of recovering fully n play for over 10-15yrs. Sundowns did a grt job signing tjis kid and making sure they don't rush him back. Now ppl envy Sundowns signing. He will be like a new signing when he finally plays. REPLY: there is no guarantee that he will be the same after spending the whole season nursing his injury.

@TBS, I know they were aware of the player 's injury trouble, but they created an impression that it was nothing serious and could be sorted within a short space of time, this is where I have a problem. Someone might have misled the club.

@setlaboswana ,,, Well, your management knew about the injury and medical report from overseas but they went on and signed him anyway. OPFC were also interested but back pedaled after he failed the medical. I feel sorry for Rivaldo, I really do :((

@TBS, not ideal situation, he may end up being a millionaire, depending on how much he earns, for nursing injury in Chloorkop.

@setlaboswana ,,, Lol :() On a serious note that's what it means... If he does eventually play he'll be targeted by opponent players and will find himself back in the injury list. U are spot on friend of mine, that's why he was dropped like a hot potato overseas. Sad :((

Players are signed given a chance and fail or take it.Buchanan had his chance he failed. Manyisa got his chance he took it. Lebese has been given a chance of which is slowly going away. By the way you don't sign a player now to use him 3 years later.
