SAFA To Send Representatives To CAF Women’s Football Symposium
Ria Ledwaba and Nastasia Tsichlas to attend CAFCAF Women’s Football Symposium
The Siya Crew understands that the South African Football Association will be sending two of its top women football administrators to the CAF Women’s Football Symposium in March.
Reliable sources close to the FA have confirmed that SAFA National Executive Committee members Ria Ledwaba and Nastasia Tsichlas will form South Africa’s contingent at the symposium next month, to be held in Morocco.
The event is dedicated strictly to women’s football and its advancement and is geared towards discussing some of the challenges that hinder the progress of women’s football on the continent.
According to the Siya source, CAF has extended an invitation to SAFA allowing them to send a delegation consisting of two members whereas other African nations will have a single representative from their respective associations.
“This is an unusual occurrence as normally associations and members are normally permitted to send one delegate to attend the symposium. This speaks volumes of the strides South Africa has made in advancing women’s football on the continent,” said the source.
Both Ledwaba and Tsichlas will submit documents outlining the guidelines and policies SAFA have used to administer women’s football across all levels.
