Botswana International Defender Arrives In SA, PSL Club Interest Confirmed
PSL Move Looms For Botswana International Defender
A move to the PSL could be on the cards for a Botswana international defender, who is currently in Mzansi, training with an interested club.
The Siya crew can confirm that Thato Kebue, who starred for Botswana’s national team in the COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa, has arrived in Mzansi for assessment at Maritzburg United.
The Team of Choice are currently in search of a defender to add to coach Fadlu Davids’ squad, as a replacement for Bevan Fransman who parted ways with the club at the expiry of his contract.
“Thato Kebue is a 21-year-old centre-back from Botswana. He’s from Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Botswana. The boy has arrived in South Africa for assessment at Maritzburg United. The tough-tackling centre-back can also play as a right-back. He did well for The Zebras (Botswana national team) during the COSAFA tournament,” confirmed the source.
In 2013, local media reports in Mzansi indicated that the then 16-year-old Kebue had been signed by Mamelodi Sundowns for their youth teams, while two years later in 2015 reports in Botswana suggested that the player had been invited for a trial with the senior team at the Chloorkop outfit.
In other news, Maritzburg are believed to be also considering a move for Nazeer Allie from Bidvest Wits, as reported by the Siya crew.
