Interest is pouring in for Phumelele ‘Ace’ Bhengu from clubs in the Premier Soccer League, according to sources in the know.
Bhengu emerged as one of the standout performers for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC during the 2018/19 season, having joined the club in the second half of the campaign from Alexandra Black Aces.
Bhengu, 29, finished the season as the joint third top goalscorer in the NFD with 11 goals. The former SuperSport United player’s performances and progress earned him recognition from suitors in the PSL.
“Ace’s performances and record this season haven’t gone unnoticed. I don’t remember it happening in the country in the past where a player joins a team in January and go on to finish the season having scored 11 goals from 10 appearances. It shows that he is a good player,” said the source.

Bhengu has previously also played for Moroka Swallows and Chippa United, among other clubs in his professional career.
“Ace is a player who needs no introduction in professional football as he was introduced to the game at a very early age. He played for the junior national teams which shows that the potential has always been there. He has helped TTM to qualify for the promotional play-offs and is trying to help the team to gain promotion to the PSL. There are a number of PSL clubs interested in him for next season, but for now his focus is on helping his club,” added the source.
