The Premier Soccer League is understood to have set the date for the second round of the DStv Diski Challenge, with strict Covid-19 protocols to be adhered to by member clubs, the Siya crew can confirm.
While the DStv Premiership is currently on a break due to the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the Diski Challenge looks set to commence on Saturday, January 8.
In a statement released by the PSL and seen by the Siya crew, member clubs will be required to provide valid negative COVID-19 antigen test results for all players and support staff before the commencement date of the competition. The statement further outlines that the tests should be conducted at least 48 hours before the commencement date.
The results of the Covid 19 antigen test must be submitted to the League’s Chief Medical Officer.
Orlando Pirates are currently top of the Diski Challenge standings on 27 points after 11 matches, while Swallows FC are struggling at the bottom of the table on nine points in as many games.
