With the 2017/18 season nearing its final stages, which also means that another transfer window is approaching, Sundowns’ Asavela Mbekile is linked with an exit from the club.

Orlando Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu are some of the PSL clubs that have previously been linked with the defender-cum-midfielder.

As reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1066, Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town are believed to be showing an interest in the utility player.

“Asavela Mbekile is likely to leave Sundowns at the end of the season. Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town are monitoring the player’s situation closely,” said the source.

Mbekile has not featured in any of the matchday squads at Sundowns this season. With the player’s contract nearing its end, it is believed that the Chloorkop club may allow him to move on with his career.

Mbekile’s contract with Sundowns is set to expire at the end of June.
