Brandon Petersen’s representative has alluded to the keeper’s future, with both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns linked to the player.
The Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper has entered into the final year of his contract with the Urban Warriors and while he is expected to leave the club during the current transfer window, indications are that his price tag could be a stumbling block for his suitors.
Siya sources have indicated that Ajax want over R5 million for the 23-year-old shot-stopper, a figure that could cause any interested club to wait six months and potentially sign him on a pre-contract, and ultimately on a free.
The Siya crew spoke Petersen’s representative, Lance Davids from On Target Football Consultants after the crew was informed that the player's price tag could be an obstacle.
“Look, it is no surprise that Brandon is valued at such a high price if it is true. He is a top goalkeeper, but it is a big figure for the PSL,” Davids told the Siya crew.
“If he stays the season, it’s fine too. Next year he can move on a free and we’ll decide on the best move for him. There are clubs in Europe and South Africa that want him, so if he does not move now, he will move next year.
“Brandon is a true professional. He respects his contract and has no problem to see it out,” concluded the former South African international.
It now remains to be seen if the keeper will see out his deal, or move during the current window.
