Interest In City Striker Mounts
Polokwane City to fend off interest in striker Rodney Ramagalela
Interest in Polokwane City striker Rodney Ramagalela continues to mount as several PSL sides look to lure the 29-year-old.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward has been in good scoring form for the Limpopo outfit since joining them on a permanent two-year-deal in 2016 via a loan deal at Golden Arrows.
With his two-year-deal set to expire in July, the Siya crew understands that several clubs have been monitoring the player's situation very closely. Earlier, the crew reported that among the clubs set to have shown an interest in the striker included the likes of Bidvest Wits and Ajax Cape Town.
Furthermore, several reports have further indicated that Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates were at some point interested in bringing the striker to their ranks, however, were deterred by the City’s R6 million price tag.
Meanwhile, it’s understood that Wits could be the frontrunners for the striker’s signature should he decide to leave Rise and Shine. In January, the Clever Boys lost out on their Egyptian striker Amr Gamal who sealed a move to Finnish outfit HJK Helsinki.
Ramagalela is expected to receive the top honours for the Absa Premiership Top Goalscorer award along with Percy Tau for both scoring 11 league goals this season,
