The Siya crew understands that Polokwane City will look to hang onto their prized striker despite mounting interest from several PSL clubs.

Rodney Ramagalela, the 29-year-old Limpopo-born striker has helped inspire Rise and Shine’s resurgence and currently leads the goalscoring charts with 11 league goals for the Golden Boot prize.

His goalscoring form has not gone unnoticed and it is understood that several clubs have enquired about the lanky striker, including Bidvest Wits and Ajax Cape Town.

The Clever Boys would want to replace the gap left by Egyptian striker Amr Gamal who signed for Finnish club, HJK Helsinki in March.

“Rodney has been one of the standout players at the club and what I can tell you is that he is extremely happy here,” revealed a Siya source.

“He is enjoying his football and you can tell by the way he is playing. His most successful time in the PSL has been with us and that shows he enjoys playing for the club and playing in his home province, so there is no doubt that Rodney is happy at Polokwane City,” added the source.

Ramagalela started his senior professional career with Black Leopards and netted 13 league goals in 51 appearances for Lidoda Duvha. He has followed this with unsuccessful spells at Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns before returning to City where he regained his goalscoring form.
