Wits Attacker On His Way To Dikwena

Platinum Stars Are Set To Sign Gerald Phiri Jnr From Bidvest Wits

By Soccer Laduma - Jan 12, 2018 12:23 PM
Bidvest Wits attacker, Gerald Phiri Jnr, is set to join Platinum Stars on loan as Roger de Sa continues to bolster his side in order to climb their way out of a relegation battle.

Dikwena have already signed Manti Mekoa, Letsie Koapeng and Zama Rambuwane in the January transfer window following a disappointing 2017, and the Siya crew has been informed that Phiri will be joining them subject to gaining a work permit.

The 24-year-old impressed for Stars during a loan spell last season and looked to have made his way into Gavin Hunt’s plans, however, Dikwena have pushed for his signature and look to have gotten their man back for a second spell in Phokeng.

According to Siya sources, Phiri is joining Stars on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy if all goes well, but that the Malawian is still waiting on a work permit before the move can be finalised.

Should Phiri receive his permit as expected, the move should be announced in the near future.
