Jele To Be Offered New Deal, Gcaba To Leave?
Pirates Set To Offer Happy Jele New Deal
The Siya Crew understands that Orlando Pirates veteran defender Happy Jele is earmarked to receive a two-year deal from the Soweto giants.
Sources close to the club have indicated that the 31-year-old defender is in line to get a one-year deal with an option to extend for another year.
Siya sources have indicated that Jele will be offered a two-year deal which will keep him at the Parktown club until 2020.
Jele along with fellow veteran defender Ayanda Gcaba have been the subjects of much speculation regarding their futures at the club. Siya sources understand that Jele is likely to remain at the club and that Gcaba could leave in search of more game-time elsewhere, as the club has set sights on recruiting Thulani Hlatshwayo from Bidvest Wits.
Meanwhile, the club has indicated that both midfielders Mpho Makola and Luvuyo Memela have had their contracts extended till 2019 following Bucs’ star performance over the weekend against Baroka FC.
