Wits Duo Sent To U19s?

Phumlani Ntshangase & Thobani Mncwango Aren't With Bidvest Wits' First Team

Word reaching the Siya crew is that two of Bidvest Wits’ senior players have been sent to train with the club’s U19s as they don’t appear to be in Gavin Hunt’s plans.
Phumlani Ntshangase and Thobani Mncwango battled for game-time under Gavin Hunt last season as they played 13 and two Absa Premiership games respectively, and it looks as though they will also have a tough time breaking in in 2018/19.
Siya sources have spotted the duo training with the club’s U19s rather than the first team as Hunt prepares his side for the upcoming campaign, although the reasons as to why they are not with the senior squad remain unknown at this point in time.
Wits were contacted for comment on the matter, although they denied that it was the case, insisting that they were not with the youth side.
The Clever Boys have already signed the likes of Simon Murray, Vuyo Mere and Haashim Domingo in the build-up to their clash with Free State Stars this weekend, however, they may not be done bolstering their squad just yet.
Hunt is looking for his side to bounce back from a tough 2017/18 season in the league and will be keen to get off to a good start in the Absa Premiership after they failed to qualify for this year’s MTN8 tournament.

Do you think that the 2018/19 campaign will be Hendrick Ekstein’s season to shine for Kaizer Chiefs?

“I can give you examples of players like Rakhale... he left Pirates looking for regular game time, but he arrived there and he was not the same,” Sikhosana told Isolezwe. “Look at Brighton, he went to Chippa and we heard reports that he likes night life – he has behavioural problems,” he continued. “On the other hand, we have players who left Chippa and joined Pirates such as James Okwuosa, Van Heerden and (Nkosinathi) Mthiyane, where are they now? These are signs that the relationship is not working,” continued the ex-Bafana Bafana striker. “This is not a working relationship between the two clubs. I am saying this because players who leave Pirates to Chippa have failed to raise their game whilst players from Chippa are not good in taking controlling their lives and have no discipline,” said Sikhosana. “The partnership between Pirates and Arrows is the one I think is working because players from Arrows are disciplined,” continued the television pundit. “They come from Clinton Larsen and Mandla Ncikazi who are good coaches in instilling discipline in their players,” he concluded..... This is becoming madness. Why they were bought in the first place? Something doesn't add up with our coaches.
