Botswana Coach In The Running For Dikwena Job
Peter Butler, the head coach of Botswana, is in the running for the vacant job at Platinum Stars, with Dikwena on the lookout for Cavin Johnson’s replacement.
Johnson was informed earlier this month that his contract in the North West would not be renewed once it expires at the end of June, with the club saying that they had now begun the search for his successor.
The likes of Luc Eymael, Roger de Sa and Gordon Igesund have all been mentioned with regards to the vacant position with Stars and the latest news reaching the Siya crew is that Butler has joined the race as a possible favourite.
Siya sources have revealed that Dikwena identified Butler as a target, but at this stage, it remains to be seen whether the Englishman is open to taking the position or not. The source explained that, at this stage, nothing has been finalised.
Butler is currently the head coach of Botswana and is believed to have been offered a new contract once his current deal expires at the end of this month.
The crew will continue to look into the situation to see whether the former West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion midfielder fancies making a move to the Absa Premiership in the coming season.
