Percy Tau To Shine At WCQ And Attract More European Suitors?

Percy Tau To Shine At WCQ And Attract More European Suitors?

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 22, 2017 02:18 PM

The South African national team will be playing their third 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter against Cape Verde next month where the likes of Percy Tau could once again be given the platform to showcase their talent to potential interested suitors.

The 23-year-old received his first Bafana Bafana call-up in March this year, where he ended up scoring on his debut, helping Bafana to a 3-1 international friendly win over Guinea-Bissau.

The player then saw a return to the national team setup under the mentorship of Head Coach Stuart Baxter, where he once again got on the scoresheet in a 2-0 Africa Cup Of Nations win over Nigeria in June this year.

Indications are that the player could potentially make his way back into Baxter’s squad next month, when South Africa face Cape Verde in the country’s third 2018 World Cup Qualifying encounter on August, 28.

As reported in last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, undisclosed clubs in North Africa and Europe are believed to be keen on trying to land the player’s signature and according to Siya sources, Masandawana is currently assessing the interest from abroad.

However, Tau is contracted to the Chloorkop-based club until, at least, June 2019, although it is believed that the player has ambitions of plying his trade abroad.

Indications are that Sundowns will not let the player go cheaply following his contributions to the team’s success both locally and in the CAF Champions League.

Should Sundowns look to put a hefty price tag on the player’s services, talks and negotiations about a transfer could drag on for several months.

However, after seeing his two former teammates, Bongani Zungu and Keagan Dolly make moves to Portugal and France respectively, should he receive a national team call-up, Tau could use the upcoming World Cup qualifiers to once again showcase his talents on the world stage and potentially attract more interested suitors.

@Gadla NXastagie ; What about Shabba & khune - they are already madalas at the Zoorena. As far as I am concerned Sundowns is the only team that has a potential of sending its players overseas: Zungu, Dolly, Gaxa, Mushekwi, Siaka Tienne, etc.
