Downs Leave Gauteng Without Big-Name Duo
Mamelodi Sundowns left Gauteng on Sunday to undergo a training camp in Rustenburg, however, did so without two of their big-name players.
Masandawana are busy preparing themselves for next month’s CAF Champions League clash with AS Togo-Port in Togo, and Pitso Mosimane has opted to take the team to the North West in order to train on artificial pitches ahead of the encounter.
Sundowns need a result having drawn their opening two games of the group stages, and Mosimane will be eager to make sure that they get the best preparation possible in the build-up to the game.
However, according to Siya sources, Percy Tau is one of the players who did not get on the bus to Rustenburg with the team, amid rumours of a possible exit for the player following interest from Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Premier League. The reason for his absence is not known at this stage.
Meanwhile, another player that reportedly didn’t travel with the team is Rivaldo Coetzee, a player who – due to injury - is yet to make his debut for the club despite signing almost 10 months ago.
The rest of the team is present on camp though, with Anthony Laffor, who has been linked with an exit, being joined by new signings, Toni Silva and José Alí Meza, in the North West.
