An Orlando Pirates youngster is showing signs of readiness for the first team at the Soweto giants as the 2018/19 season is nearing an end.
After being loaned out to Stellenbosch FC in the NFD, and to Mzansi second tier’s newcomers TS Galaxy, later on, Zakhele Lepasa has grown in leaps and bounds in his career.
The 22-year-old striker has been scoring goals for the Rockets in their NFD campaign. With his loan deal coming to an end in June, the player will be expected to return to Pirates and hear from the club regarding his future.
Prior to the start of the season, as Bucs were finalising their preparations for the season, Lepasa was invited for training with the first team under coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team.
While the player impressed with his performances, which included scoring a goal while on pre-season camp with the team in Zambia, a decision was taken to send him out on loan to increase his chances of regular game-time this season.
Sredojevic and the club will be expected to make a decision on Lepasa for next season.
