Bucs Still Keen On Target, Celtic Reluctant
Orlando Pirates Still Chasing Bloemfontein Celtic Midfielder
Orlando Pirates is still keen on landing Musa Nyatama in this transfer window, however, the player’s current employers at Bloemfontein Celtic are reluctant to part ways with the player.
The Siya crew reported two weeks ago that Pirates have added Nyatama to their list of potential targets. Having completed the signing of Thamsanqa Sangweni from Chippa United, the Buccaneers are keen on adding another central midfielder to the squad for the 2017/18 season and according to sources, the signature of Nyatama is next on the club's list.
“There is interest. But the player has another year on his contract (with Celtic). Celtic is reluctant to sell the player to Pirates,” said the source.
Nyatama had an impressive game against Bucs in their league match towards the end of the season. The 29-year-old was unlucky not to have scored a goal in that match, as his shot came off the upright with the goalkeeper, Jackson Mabokgwane, already beaten.
Nyatama has been a transfer target for Bucs for a long time. In 2013, when the Benoni-born player was still on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns, the Soweto giants were reportedly keen to sign him.
