The Siya crew understands that Orlando Pirates have signed the Brazilian centre back, Caio Marcelo.
As previously reported, the 20-year-old defender along with countryman goalkeeper, Pepe Nunes were training with Pirates for the duration of the pre-season and even travelled with the club to Zambia.
According to sources, the defender has penned a deal with the Soweto giants.
“I can tell you that the team has already begun working on finalising his work permit, as a deal has been tabled. He will be a fully-fledged player in the upcoming season,” said the source.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Nunes will be handed a deal by the Buccaneers as Pirates have recently bolstered their goalkeeping department with former Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, Brilliant Khuzwayo.
