Bucs Hint At Adding More Players
Orlando Pirates set to bolster team with reinforcements for CAF aspirations
Orlando Pirates have hinted at adding more players to their roster should they successfully qualify for next year’s CAF Champions League.
The Soweto giants look set to qualify for continental football as they are currently in second place behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with three games remaining in the league.
“The technical team is currently assessing the situation and what I can say is that should the team confirm their place in Champions League, more players will be added to the team,” said the source.
“One of the areas that team is looking at (is) in the striking department. Continental football is very demanding and the team want to do well in both their league and CAF aspirations,” added the source.
It is understood that the club could look at roping in as many as two more strikers to be part of the team.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers will look at attaining maximum points when they meet Bidvest Wits in a midweek league clash to be played behind closed doors, following a ruling made by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee against Pirates for fan violence in the fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on February 11, 2017.
