Orlando Pirates have reportedly made an enquiry into the availability of a highly-rated international defender.
As part of the plans to reinforce their squad for next season, the Buccaneers are believed to be tracking Kenyan defender Joash Onyango with a view to sign him.
The 28-year-old centre-back is currently on the books of Simba SC in Tanzania’s top-flight, having joined them last year from Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia, and is also a member of the Harambee Stars.
According to reports, the Tanzanian giants want in the region of Sh100 million (+/-R617 059) for the player and have reportedly told the Soweto giants that they would not allow an offer below that.
“I want to reveal a secret. Orlando Pirates asked me if they want Onyango, how much we will accept. I told them it can’t be below one million dollars (Sh100 million). He has been named the best centre-back in the CAF Champions League squad,” Simba communications officer Haji Manara Manara reportedly told the media in Tanzania.
