Pirates Won’t Comment On Potential Signings
Orlando Pirates Linked With Exciting Duo
Orlando Pirates will not be drawn into discussing the names of players they are intending to sign at the end of the season in preparation for the new campaign.
Recent media reports have linked the Buccaneers with different players from various clubs in the PSL. According to reports, Chippa United’s Paseka Mako and Vincent Pule from Bidvest Wits are the two players strongly linked with Pirates.
However, a source very close to the Pirates has told the Siya crew that no deals have been completed by the club with any of the players as yet.
“I have also seen reports linking players to Pirates. It is improper for people to link Pirates with players when there are quality players within the squad for the positions they (potential signings) play. That is upsetting the current players in the squad,” said the source.
“The season is not over yet, and at the right time, the team will make announcements on new arrivals. If the technical team’s report recommends the signing of a new player, then that position will be filled,” concluded the source.
Pirates’ head coach, Milutin Sredojevic, has recently stated that the club will identify which position in the team needs cover, as the Soweto giants will be going to the new season preparing for PSL and CAF Champions League campaigns.
Contacted for comment, Pirates’ administrative officer Floyd Mbele told the Siya crew that all issues pertaining to next season’s squad will be looked into by the club at the end of the season.
