Orlando Pirates are expected to conclude another signing, with the addition of a versatile player from Chippa United set to be finalised.
With Bucs’ chairman Irvin Khoza having already confirmed in the media that Paseka Mako and Kudakwashe Mahachi have been signed by the Soweto giants, further reports in local media indicate that the Buccaneers could be set to conclude a deal with Abel Mabaso.
Just like Mako has been for Chippa this past season, Mabaso has been influential with his performances for the Eastern Cape outfit.
While both Pirates and Chippa have not yet officially confirmed the news of Mabaso’s signing, with the player’s camp also not forthcoming with any information regarding a potential move, an indication from sources in the know is that the 27-year-old is set to be announced as a new signing for Pirates.
Mabaso is a former Mamelodi Sundowns player, who came through from the junior ranks at the Chloorkop club and worked his way up to the senior team.
The Durban-born player can play in defence as well as midfield.
