News reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates have renewed their interest in Mosa Lebusa from Ajax Cape Town. Sources indicate that the likelihood exists for the Soweto giants to try and sign him.
The Buccaneers are believed to have identified the defender as a potential transfer target, as the club will be looking at making reinforcements to the squad for next season. Bucs first showed interest in the left-back two seasons ago.
The 24-year-old has been one of the top performers for the Urban Warriors in recent seasons. His progress at the Mother City outfit was consistent performances and a high work-rate, thus it is understood that the player has been closely monitored by the Buccaneers with interest.
The Thabong-born player’s consistency and contribution to the progress of Ajax were rewarded when he was named the club’s Player of the Season at the end of the 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign.
A source close to Pirates has confirmed to the Siya crew that the Soweto giants could attempt to reach an agreement with the parties involved for Lebusa to make the switch from the Western Cape to Gauteng for next season.
“Orlando Pirates want Mosa Lebusa as one of their new signings of this transfer window. They want him at the club and the matter is being handled by some of the top officials at the club,” said the source.
At the end of last season, Pirates signed Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien from Ajax and according to the source, Lebusa is likely to follow suit, should negotiations between the parties be successful.
