Bucs’ Ghanaian Staying On
Orlando Pirates Have Decided To Keep Bernard Morrison
As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, Bernard Morrison is staying on at Orlando Pirates for another season.
The Buccaneers have decided to keep the player at the club for another season to impress and contribute to the team’s progress. The Ghanaian is set to compete for a place in the team’s starting line-up under Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team.
Morrison has been linked with a move away from Pirates, since the end of last season and during the July/August transfer window. Initially, it seemed as though Bucs were not going to register him.
The midfielder-cum-striker struggled with lack of game-time at the club. Siya sources have indicated that the player has now been registered for the campaign after the Serbian mentor opted to include him in his plans.
“Bernard Morrison is still at Orlando Pirates and he is in the plans. He is staying with the club and registered for this season. The thing is that he has been injured. The injury is from the match against Kaizer Chiefs in July. But the good thing is that he is now recovering. He has started light training and will soon be available for selection,” said the source.
Morrison joined Pirates last year from Democratic Republic of the Congo outfit AS Vita Club. At the time, the 24-year-old signed a three-year contract, which will run until June of 2019.
