Contract Extension Completed For Bucs Youngster

Orlando Pirates have extended the contract of one of the club’s up and coming young stars to keep him on their books for longer, in line with the team's plans for the future.

Following a decision to loan youngster, Yanga Baliso to Cape Umoya United in the National First Division for the 2018/19 season, the Buccaneers have opted to exercise their option on the player’s contract.

As confirmed to the Siya crew by sources close to the 21-year-old player, Bucs have taken the two-year option on the midfielder’s contract to keep him with the club until 2021 at least.

Baliso’s original contract with Bucs was set to end in June 2019, having initially signed a three-year deal with the club in 2016 after parting ways with Ajax Cape Town where he was with their development.

Baliso will aim to do well under former Pirates coach Roger de Sa at Umoya for a chance to be promoted to Bucs’ first team on his return to the Soweto giants at the end of the season to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Lyle Foster, Siphumelele Mbulu and Augustine Mahlonoko who are some of the youngsters promoted from Bucs’ development to the first team in recent times.
