Orlando Pirates could be without one of the team’s influential players in their first game after the FIFA international break.
The Siya crew has learnt that Bucs could still be without Innocent Maela for the season’s restart, due to injury. The defender, who has made the left back position for Milutin Sredojevic’s team his own, has been disrupted by an injury, which has hindered his impressive progress.
The 25-year-old picked an injury during the 3-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns two weeks ago and the Witbank-born player missed Bucs’ Telkom Knockout quarter-final game against Polokwane City as a result.
An indication from sources close to the Bucs camp is that the player hasn’t yet fully recovered from the injury. The former Thanda Royal Zulu captain has been receiving the attention of Pirates’ medical team.
In their next game, The Buccaneers will host Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership game at Orlando Stadium next Tuesday.
