Tyson To Pirates On The Cards?
Orlando Pirates could potentially be looking at reigniting their interest in Bidvest Wits captain, Thulani Hlatshwayo, in the next transfer window.
The Siya crew previously reported that Pirates had taken a liking to the Bafana Bafana international, however, the Clever Boys remained adamant that he would not be leaving.
‘Tyson’ signed a new contract at the club earlier this year that will see him through to 2019, so any club wishing to try and tempt him away from Braamfontein would need to stump up a hefty fee in order to earn the right to do so.
As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, with Wits struggling at present, it is believed that Pirates may look to test their resolve in the January transfer window.
Wits’ CEO, Jose Ferreira, did not confirm any interest in the player, though admitted that he would not be surprised by any interest.
He said, “I have no doubt that all the clubs in the PSL would love to sign Thulani Hlatshwayo in January.”
While Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic would no doubt love to have ‘Tyson’ join his side, ultimately the whole situation lies in Wits hands, with a season and a half remaining on his contract giving them bargaining power.
