Pirates To Make Decision On Returning Defender

Orlando Pirates are set to make a decision on the immediate future of one of their incoming defenders.

Tercious Malepe will see his loan stint with the Urban Warriors come to an end on June 30, where he will thereafter return to his parent club, Pirates.

According to sources in the know, Pirates will be making a decision on Malepe, based on whether or not he will be continuing at the club in the new 2018/19 season, or if another loan move is on the cards for the player.

Malepe is contracted to the Buccaneers until, at least, the end of the 2020/21 season and although he was one of Ajax’s key players during his loan spell, the 21-year-old will not continue on the book’s of the Urban Warriors, who are possibly set to campaign in the National First Division next season.

Pirates have already parted ways with a few players thus far, ahead of the July/August transfer window, with the likes of Ayanda Gcaba and Brighton Mhlongo all set to ply their trade elsewhere in the Premier Soccer League.

Indications are that the Soweto giants are set to make decisions about the immediate future of several other players, including Malepe and it remains to be seen where the young defender will be playing his football next season.
