Pirates In Late Push To Jump In On Lebusa Deal
Word reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates are making a late push at the eleventh hour to try and jump in on Mosa Lebusa’s move to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates, Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have all been in the running to try and land the defender’s signature ahead of the new season, with Masandawana having been favourites for some time now as Pitso Mosimane looked likely to get his man.
Now though, the player’s future has been thrown up into the air once again, with Siya sources revealing that the Buccaneers are making one last push to try and reach an agreement with both Ajax Cape Town and the player himself.
Lebusa, who can play as a left back or as a central defender, is in demand as a versatile player that was one of only a few players to impress at Ikamva last season, and he will be eager to make sure that – whatever happens – he is playing in the top flight in 2018/19.
While it remains to be seen where he will actually end up in the upcoming campaign, it does appear that there will be a late fight for his signature as Sundowns and Pirates battle it out.
