Orlando Pirates’ PSL rivals are monitoring Abbubaker Mobara’s situation at the club with interest, with the likelihood of them attempting to sign the player.

Mobara is struggling for regular game time at the Buccaneers under coach Milutin Sredojevic. So far during the 2018/19 Absa Premiership campaign, the player has featured in only one match against Chippa United, which was the only win for the Buccaneers to date.
Apart from the Chippa match, the 24-year-old has not been in any of Bucs’ matchday squads so far this season, despite the inconsistent results for the Soweto giants.
As things stand, it seems as though Mobara has fallen down on the pecking order at the club. Some of Bucs’ PSL rivals, including Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United have since been linked to the player.
According to sources, Kaizer Chiefs have also been made aware of the player’s contractual situation at Bucs.

“Chiefs are looking. Willard (Katsande) is not getting younger and they want someone to replace him,” explained the source.
With the former Ajax Cape Town player having entered into the last year of his contract, and with the likelihood of him being available to sign a pre-contract elsewhere in January unless he extends his stay with Pirates or is transferred out of the club, it is believed that there has also been interest in his services from abroad as reported in edition 1087 of Soccer Laduma.
“There are clubs in Europe that are aware too - they know that he can leave on a free next year,” added the source.
