There has been no official talk about whether a defender from Mamelodi Sundowns will be making a return to Europe.
It has been reported in local media in the past weeks that Anele Ngcongca confirmed that a club in Belgium has been showing interest in luring him back to Europe.
According to the 30-year-old Sundowns defender, Cercle Brugge is believed to be interested in the player, however, according to a source close to the Masandawana camp, there have been no official talks or communication between Brugge or the player’s camp.
Ngcongca suffered a blow during the Brazilians Nedbank Cup clash last month, where he could have played his last game of the season for the Brazilians.
However, with the player since revealing that a move back to Europe may be on the cards, it remains to be seen whether anything will materialise in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
The defender is still contracted to Sundowns, which means that should an interested suitor be keen on securing the player’s signature, the club will have to approach Masandawana with an offer for his services.
