PSL Club Lose Tranfer Ban Appeal?

Word reaching the Siya crew is that Bloemfontein Celtic have lost in their attempt to have a transfer ban decision against them overturned.

Last week it was revealed that football governing body FIFA had sent a letter to SAFA to inform them of a transfer ban imposed on Celtic, in a case involving Phunya Sele Sele’s former goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb, who was unfairly dismissed two years ago and the PSL outfit was ordered to pay him R3 million.

Celtic appealed the decision of the transfer ban and the Siya crew has now been informed that they have lost in their attempt to have the decision overturned.

SAFA sent out a statement confirming that they had received the letter from FIFA and that they would refer the matter to the Premier Soccer League to further investigate.

“The South African Football Association has noted the sanction imposed by FIFA on Bloemfontein Celtic FC over what the club says is a labour relations matter involving one of its former players,” SAFA said in a statement.

“The correspondence from FIFA has been referred to the PSL for the attention of the club as stipulated in the FIFA regulations, with a request that the club provides background to the matter and indicate which steps they intend to take. SAFA will provide further information as and when it is received from the club and the League.”

According to the ban, Celtic will not be able to sign players this season and in the two transfer windows next season.
