Nine Days Left: Mamelodi Sundowns Intensify Interest In Cape Town City Winger
Mamelodi Sundowns have intensified their interest in one of Cape Town City’s wingers with just nine days left to go before the July/August transfer window.
In May this year, City’s chairman, John Comitis, issued a statement to the football fraternity where he revealed that Head Coach, Pitso Mosimane, allegedly offered Aubrey Ngoma a large sum of money to join the Chloorkop-based club next season.
This was allegedly done outside of the transfer window and without approaching the Mother City-based club first, which was not taken lightly by Chairman Comitis and since then, it has been no secret that the Brazilians were interested in Ngoma’s services.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew were informed that Masandawana is still keen on landing the player’s signature for the 2017/18 campaign, with Siya sources indicating that Head Coach Mosimane views the 27-year-old as Keagan Dolly’s replacement.
Ngoma put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the club in January this year, however, with just under 10 days to go before the July/August transfer window, indications are that City will have to deal with the headache of Sundowns coming to knock on their door with an offer for their star player.
Now, it is uncertain when Sundowns plan to approach the 2016 Telkom Knockout champions for Ngoma, but it seems likely that Head Coach, Benni McCarthy, will want to keep the player in his plans for the new 2017/18 campaign which means that City will not let the player go cheaply.
