Former SA Junior Replaces Ex-Man United Keeper

News reaching the Siya crew is that former Maritzburg United goalkeeper Jethren Barr has finally found a club in Europe.

The keeper decided against extending his stay with Team of Choice in June this year, after being on their books since 2017.

Subsequently, the Siya crew revealed that he had attracted interest in North Ireland, with the youngster understood to have since completed a two-year deal with Portadown FC in the United Kingdom.

According to insiders, Barr will be replacing former Manchester United youngster Jacob Carney, who was on loan at the club and has since been released to join Sunderland.

However, the source added that the former PSL goalkeeper is actually still in the country due to Covid19 regulations but is expected to join up with his new club soon.
