Following long spells spent on the sidelines without playing due to contractual disputes, goalkeeper Bongani Manavhela has finally been given another chance to play professional football again after he signed a deal with a new club.
The goalkeeper recently secured his freedom after both Black Leopards and Polokwane City, the two PSL clubs that he signed contracts with, finally decided to stop with pursuing the matter and allowed him to move on with his career, following protracted discussions at the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber last year.
Contacted for comment, Manavhela’s representative Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi confirmed that the goalkeeper has joined TS Sporting to revive his career.
“I am delighted to confirm that it hasn’t taken a long time for Bongani Manavhela to sign a contract with a new club after everything that he has experienced in his career in the last few months. The player has signed a six-month contract with an option for one more year with TS Sporting. I am happy for the player because he is getting another chance to play football again and to move on with his career,” confirmed Mulovhedzi.
In other news, former Free State Stars assistant coach Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala has joined the club as the team’s assistant coach.
Mosala has parted ways with the Bethlehem outfit, following the arrival of the team’s new head coach Nikola Kavazovic.
At Sporting, Mosala will work under Sammy Troughton, who is now the team’s coach after former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Benson Mhlongo left the side.
