News coming out of the Swallows camp is that the Dube Birds have this week made yet another signing as they gear up for the new campaign.
The Siya crew understands that Mbulelo Wambi, who parted ways with TS Galaxy at the end of the previous campaign, has found a new home in Soweto.
Swallows are busy bolstering their squad, having so far confirmed four new arrivals, while several others have begun training with coach Brandon Truter’s squad and awaiting confirmation of the nature of their agreements.
Among them is Yagan Sasman (Kaizer Chiefs), Jody February, Keletso Makgalwa, Katlego Mohamme (all Mamelodi Sundowns) – the veteran duo of Hlompho Kekana and Tebogo Langerman have also been offered to the Dube Birds.
Wambi is understood to have put pen to paper not long after chairman David Mogashoa confirmed to the Siya crew on Monday that striker Mwape Musonda was the ‘big fish’ joining the Dube Birds to lead the line this season.
The central midfielder only managed six appearances for TS Galaxy last season, and perhaps the writing was on the wall that the two parties would go their separate ways.
Indications are that he has signed a two-year contract, with confirmation expected from the Dube Birds as soon as the player is officially registered.
