Pirates Target Refuses New Leopards Deal
Meshack Maphangule Will Be Leaving Black Leopards
Orlando Pirates are believed to be interested in signing Meshack Maphangule of Black Leopards and will be buoyed by the fact that he has refused a new deal.
Maphangule has been a target for clubs in the top-flight for some time now, although his contract with Leopards – who have been keen to keep him – has stood in the way of a move in recent years.
Now though, with the midfield man having helped Lidoda Duvha reach the brink of promotion back into the Absa Premiership, it appears that he will be on his way out, come the end of next month.
The 26-year-old, who was also on Chiefs' hitlist at one point, will see his current deal with Leopards expire at the end of June, leaving him as a free agent, that can take his pick of clubs as he considers his next move.
Siya sources have revealed that the former Dynamos midfielder has already informed his employers of his decision not to sign a new contract, confirming that he will be donning new colours in 2018/19.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation of the Pirates target to see where he ends up next season.
