Baroka FC’s Matome Mabeba, who has been making a name for himself as one of the free-kick specialists in the PSL, is attracting interest from clubs in Mzansi's top tier.
The 28-year-old winger scored what could go on to become a Goal of the Season contender with his well-struck free-kick against Orlando Pirates in their league match in January.
Another well-struck free-kick for him this season was against Bidvest Wits during the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout, which Baroka went on to win after defeating Pirates in the final.
A source close to Mabeba has revealed to the Siya crew that the player has attracted interest from two clubs in the PSL.
“There is interest in Matome Mabeba from at least two clubs in the PSL. Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits have both been monitoring the player. But, for now, the player wants to focus on finishing the season with Baroka and to help the team to move away from relegation zone on the log,” said the source.
As confirmed by the source, the player’s contract with Baroka is set to expire in June.
