Mark ‘Professor’ Mayambela appears to be close to joining a new club for the 2019/20 season, following his exit from Chippa United at the end of last season.
The skilful midfielder, who captained Chippa during his stay with the club, surprisingly parted ways with the Port Elizabeth club at the end of last season despite having appeared to be one of the more influential players for the side.

The 31-year-old Khayelitsha-born player has been training with Highlands Park in Gauteng, with a view of joining the club this season.
The Lions of the North are looking at bolstering the squad for coach Owen da Gama, following the team’s slow start to the season, after picking up just one point from a possible six from the two matches played so far in their Absa Premiership campaign.

The club has also been assessing a few other experienced players in recent weeks in the likes of Edwin Gyimah, Vuyo Mere and Sandile Zuke, among others.
