Maritzburg United are believed to be keeping a close eye on one of Kaizer Chiefs’ midfielders who is currently out of favour at the club.
Keagan Buchanan, who joined Amakhosi last year from Bloemfontein Celtic, is still struggling to find his feet in the Soweto giants’ setup, despite his second season under the mentorship of Head Coach Steve Komphela.

The 25-year-old has made just three appearances for Amakhosi so far this 2017/18 season, with his last appearance dating back to September this year.
The Siya crew has since been informed that a loan move is currently on the cards for Buchanan in the January transfer window, with Maritzburg believed to be keen on adding the player to their books.

At this point, it seems that the player is not in Head Coach Komphela’s plans and with Chiefs having just one Absa Premiership fixture remaining before the January transfer window, it is likely that the club could already be negotiating the player’s immediate future.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Maritzburg will look to approach Chiefs for a loan deal for Buchanan, or if the club will look to permanently sell the player to an interested suitor.
