Will Maritzburg Find A Buyer For Ousted Attacker?
Maritzburg United are looking to try and offload Cameroon international, Yazid Atouba, but the question remains as to whether they can find a buyer for the 25-year-old.
It was recently reported that the former AS Vita attacker had been transfer-listed by the Team of Choice after a less-than-impressive debut season in South Africa, and – as reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma – it is thought that they are trying to recoup some of the money that they spent on bringing him to Pietermaritzburg.
The likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebohang Maboe and Deolin Mekoa were all deployed ahead of Atouba on a regular basis over the course of the season as Fadlu Davids guided Maritzburg to their highest ever league finish and biggest points total in PSL history, with the Cameroon international making just 12 Absa Premiership appearances.
It remains to be seen how much Maritzburg are hoping to get in return for the player’s signature, although they may be forced to take a minor knock financially given his lack of game-time since arriving in Mzansi.
