Maritzburg To Jump On Released Chiefs Man
Maritzburg United Are Interested In Keagan Buchanan After He Left Kaizer Chiefs
Maritzburg United are looking to bolster their ranks during the off-season as they plan another impressive campaign in the Absa Premiership, and have targeted a former Kaizer Chiefs player.
The Team of Choice snapped up Siyanda Xulu on a free transfer at the start of last season after he terminated his contract with the Amakhosi, with the centre back going on to win the PSL Defender of the Season award for his stellar performances over the campaign.
According to Siya sources, the club is hoping to try and repeat that scenario with Keagan Buchanan, with the 26-year-old now available as a free agent having terminated his contract with the Glamour Boys last week.
Many Chiefs fans felt that the midfielder wasn’t given enough opportunity to impress at Naturena during his time at the club, and Maritzburg certainly feel that – under the tutelage of Fadlu Davids – they can get the best out of the former Amakhosi number 10.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation as the talented former SuperSport United man looks for the next step in his career.
