Maritzburg Continue Chase For SSU Starlet

Maritzburg United are still interested in signing Fagrie Lakay at the end of the season, with the Team of Choice hopeful of pulling off a move ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
The Siya crew reported back in February that Fadlu Davids was keen on the 20-year-old attacker – who is currently on loan with Ajax Cape Town – and their interest hasn’t waned as we approach the end of the season.
According to Siya sources, there has been contact between the involved parties ahead of a possible transfer, although at this point in time there have been no indications as to whether it will end up happening or not.
Lakay has scored two goals and got one assist from seven league starts for the Urban Warriors since his January move, and for now, will be focused on trying to help them stay in the top flight.
Meanwhile, SuperSport have confirmed that long-time servant of the club, Ricardo Katza, has left the club to take on the role of Director of Football at Grey College in Bloemfontein.
Katza has spent 15 years at the club as both a player and coach, winning three Absa Premiership titles, the SAA Supa 8 and the Nedbank Cup.
