Ex-Buccaneer Getting Fresh Start At AmaZulu?
Marc van Heerden Is Training With AmaZulu After Leaving Orlando Pirates
Former Orlando Pirates defender, Marc van Heerden, is back training with his former club, and his agent seems confident of him landing a deal there for next season.
The Siya crew reported earlier in the week that the 30-year-old left back could be set to return to AmaZulu after negotiating his exit from the Buccaneers earlier this month, and it has now been confirmed that he’s currently back in KwaZulu-Natal.
Speaking to the crew this week, Van Heerden’s agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed that the player was training with Cavin Johnson’s side as they undergo their preseason preparations, and that he’s hopeful of him doing enough to secure himself a deal.
He explained, “The club has shown interest in signing him, and he’s currently training there. We’re hoping that a decision will be made sooner rather than later, but we do feel quite positively about the situation.”
The crew will keep an eye on Van Heerden’s movements in the coming weeks to see if he is able to persuade Johnson to offer him a contract or not.
