Sundowns’ Huge Tau Price Tag...
Mamelodi Sundowns Want Around €3m For Percy Tau
It’s going to take big money to persuade Mamelodi Sundowns to part ways with their talisman, Percy Tau, with Masandawana slapping hefty price tag on his head, according to Siya sources.
The 23-year-old has been in scintillating form for the Brazilians this season, with 11 goals and 15 assists to his name, playing a vital role in helping his side lift the Absa Premiership for the eighth time.
Speculation has been rife that the Bafana Bafana international, who still has one year left on his contract at Chloorkop, could leave in the upcoming window, with Coach Pitso Mosimane saying that they won’t stand in his way if an offer comes in from a big European club.
It won’t just be the team that has to be big though, with the Siya crew reporting in today’s issue of Soccer Laduma that they are hoping to get around €3 million (+/-R45m) for him if they are to consider selling him.
Sundowns have driven a hard bargain in the past, turning down a multi-million rand offer for Bongani Zungu before losing him on a free, and charging Montpellier around R25m for Keagan Dolly last year.
There will be a lot of talk surrounding Tau’s future in the coming months, however the player’s focus will be on finishing the league strongly and helping Sundowns get off to a good start in the CAF Champions League.
